Neglected Sound- They Dont Dance No More...
May 09, 2009 02:15 AM PDT
The Black Hoodz Crew and special guest Da Bizness linked up to talk about dancing and hip hop and how the two are correlated. The question first arose over a debate as to whether underground hip hop was danceable and can dance songs still have creativity and be lyrical. We even discussed some of our favorite old school dances from the wop to the butterfly. So make sure you groove to this playlist and be on the look out for a part two to this show. Neglected Sound recently linked up with one of the dopest deejays in Memphis, DJ HUSH, and created a ill show. Also we had guest appearances from Jason Da Hater and Empee to come through and join in the discussions which ranged from the "sagging pants" law to hip hop confessions * shame on you IllVillain* But to fans of the show you know what to expect commentary ranging from silly to serious and an ill playlist courtesy of none other than DJ HUSH. This playlist includes heat from everybody from Guilty Simpson to KRS-ONE to Memphis own Tunnel Clones. Also dont forget to hit up DJ Hush's page over at http://djhush.podomatic.com/ and my homies MaxPtah & Ghetto Jane's page at http://theshow2009.podomatic.com/ Neglected Sound- If We Wrote A book On Our Life…

This show discusses all the things you come to expect from us with commentary that ranges from the new President to the use of the auto tuner all in our normal silly, humorous fashion. But of course the most important is the music and the playlist was this show is one of the best we ever done so we back again. Allow Us to Reintroduce Ourselves. 1.DymeDef- Dreamin ( Bean Mix)

The Crew wanted to address a lot of varying topics from sports to relationships and just hit the listener with some bangers. Also check out the second ever Turntable Discussion:Murs- Murs For President album. This episode also ended with an R&B song, first time ever, Why? Cause we felt like it. Also we had a few remakes on this show definitely check out Sha Stimuli remake of the Ice-T classic "Colors" and Apathy's remake of Kayne's "Love Lockdown." 1. Freeway- How I Feel

Neglected South presents The South Got Something To Say which was dedicated to all the emcees from the South that many of the mainstream may be aware that they exist. We also wanted to take the time to address stereotypes of Southern hiphop such as its all booty music and crunk music. We also addressed VH1 100 Greatest Hip Hop Songs list. On this playlist we included acts from Louisiana, Texas, Florida, and of course Memphis. So unclog your ears and listen to what the South has to say.. 1. Nikkage- Soul Food f. DJ Berlin

Neglected Sound …The Rise And Fall of Stardom Good evening ladies and gentlemen..I’m David Ruffin & these are the Temptations. Nah I’m playing but the Black Hoodz Crew wanted to know what it would feel like to be stars. Would we fall apart, Let stardom go to our head, or act like Ludacris and believe that “it aint tricking with you got it?” these and other questions were addressed as well as some examples of stardom and negative influences causing the demise of certain people. Plus we discussed the Josh Howard incident and had some new voices on the show, THE YOUNG PRINCE, a return of one of favorite local emcees, Spherichal and MaxPtah. Neglected Sound addresses the issue of being Black in America in 2008. The show addressed issues such as Obama, not being black enough??, and reverse racism in hip hop plus so much more...This show may upset some but it is designed to spark conversation and thought. Many great people influenced this show Nasir ben Olu Dara, AZ, Aaron Mcgruder, and Tariq Nelson to name a small few. Check out www.tariqnelson.com

Yo Alias who is a boondocks fanatic (borderline obsessed) was watching the return of stinkmeaner episode and all of a sudden he had this crazy idea that he wanted to come up with a show with artists talking about well...themselves. His title "I don't know who you think i am but i'm" of course came from the imfamous Rick James. i hope yall enjoy the show cause the crew enjoyed blasting him on it! Shout out to MaxPtah for stopping through and giving a hilarious interview and bringing an EXCLUSIVE track. 1.Rakim-R.A.K.I.M.

Neglected Sound Radio presents Da Hater Show #1
August 10, 2008 10:54 PM PDT
First lets say peace to Issac Hayes and Bernie Mac, two very talented African-American males who will be missed. This show was dedicated to a quote I heard in the Wise Intelligent song "Maybe I'm to blame for my modern day position, not the current Euro-centric white supremacist system." So we wanted to explore that quote in music and in commentary. Interesting thought maybe the people complaining are the problem...hmm. 1. Black Market Militia f. Dead Prez- Audobon Ballroom

Its been a long time..we shouldn’t have left you with a dope show to listen to..Nah we back and we got a dope show for you with some heated commentary. So as a special bonus we are posting two versions of this show. One version with full commentary and another with the entire playlist. This entire show was dedicated to our first love...Hip-Hop. Many people have said Hip Hop is Dead but we wanted to address the idea that if its really dead then who killed it. Recently Joe Budden dropped the Who series and we felt it was necessary for everyone to hear it so check that joint out and give us feedback on your feelings about it on our myspace page. www.myspace.com/neglectedsound
